MorningStar is located near LeRoy, Michigan, approximately one and a quarter hours north of Grand Rapids. We have 120 acres of diverse forest, stream, fields, wetlands, and organic vegetable and flower gardens. MorningStar is perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, photography, writing, stillwatching, listening, birding, and camping.

The White Pine hiking and biking trail adjoins our land.

Arial View of Land

Why do I keep on searching?
Dogged..... dogged
always longing for something more
believing in a new potential
never even birthed.
Why am I so pursued
by something with no form?
No source, no name?
Only a deep gut urge
that rises
whilst I sleep
and impels me deeper
into bewilderment.
So I wander
like one lost and mad
across deserts and through forest
tracing lonely paths
in solitary places
longing
for that which
I do not know.

From nowhere a path appears and I remember that I am a pilgrim in the midst of others.

Last night as the sun was setting
The Spirit gave me the gift of witnessing light in its many colors.
Yellow, orange, reds,
Leaves radiate against blue sky, wind chanting.
I felt joy in my soul
and laughter in my heart.

Be still,
and listen to the heartbeat of creation...
          it throbs with love
                for you.
